Biography

After a PhD (Bayreuth, Germany) and Postdoc (Strasbourg, France) researching magnetic and/or fluorescent molecular switches for bio-medical applications, Charles joined the Translational Healthcare Technologies Group at the University of Edinburgh in 2020 as GMP Chemist, and since 2023 is the Translational Chemistry Manager. His role includes the synthetic process development, formulation, GMP manufacture, development/validation of analytical methods, and quality control analytical testing of fluorescent imaging probes and APIs for clinical research. Additionally, Charles is a postgraduate supervisor mentoring and advising PhD students researching new fluorescent probes with biomedical applications.
