Chester Medical Solutions has been ensuring that doing business with a conscience has been top of the agenda this past year.

We are delighted to announce that on our first application, we were awarded the Ecovadis Bronze award in September 2023, recognising our progress towards increasing the sustainability of our products and processes. Our score places us in the top 50% of all companies assessed. We are already on the journey to make this Silver by November this year!
We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously at Chester Medical, as do our customers and suppliers, and we are proud that this has been recognised in this way.

Ecovadis is only part of our sustainability journey. We have already achieved the ISO14001 environmental accreditation and are extending it to include our Bromborough site in January 2024. We have established Carbon Reduction Targets across our business of 21% by 2028. Our energy supply is from renewable sources and we procure energy efficient equipment and manage any upgrades aligned with this ethos on an ongoing basis such as our new printing press with LED curing technology meaning 70% less electricity consumption which is coming online this year.

With our customers today having a plastic reduction target, or recycle readiness forming a ‘must have’ within their ESG packaging goals, we can provide answers and solutions such as recycle ready films within key technologies such as blister packing, sachets and pouch filling through close R&D collaboration with our supply base. 2023 saw continued successful trials in these technologies. Our waste management is continuously monitored for reduction initiatives and managed according to PS9000. Our shipper packing material is from material recycled in house, with pallet wrapping implemented made from a minimum of 30% recycled content.

We are working hard to ensure that our continued growth has a smaller and smaller impact on the planet.
