Terence Blaney (my father) spent 29 years as Executive VP of Colorcon (growing it from a US entity that had established only 8 years before he joined, to a global dominance in the tablet coatings industry. Notably Colorcon are now exhibitors of the event and hopefully some may remember my father fondly as the person behind several major deals that allowed Colorcon to be profitable for many years after he left.
In 1998, my father left Colorcon to establish his own Pharmaceutical Technology company. Utilising a proprietary novel drug delivery technology, the company was taken public and over time the company morphed into a single drug programme that utilised the unique technology.
After five years, my father decided to retired. and after 1 day, he decided that wasn’t for him, and he would have to do something more interesting in his retirement than just clay pigeon shooting. So he created ARx in 2005. Under his leadership ARx has grown into the industry leader in Quality and Regulatory recruitment, and also spent many years supporting Engineering and Technical hiring across the board. ARx is still to this day (after 20 years) a family run Life Science Recruitment Organisation, and despite working internationally with contracts across in Europe and the USA, ARx remains at it’s core a family run, people focussed and culture driven organisation.
I’d like to propose that my father be awarded the Outstanding Contribution award for giving 55+ years to the Life Science industry (36 as an executive in pharma, and 20 as a consultant to pharma). He remains passionate about the industry, and I know would be delighted at the nomination of being a huge contributor to the industry.
