Biography

After graduating from Durham University with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Nick began his career in 2000 on the Graduate Programme with AstraZeneca. He then spent 5 years with AstraZeneca working in a variety of engineering roles across Primary & Secondary operations before moving to GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in late 2005.

Since joining GSK he has worked in a variety of Operational Engineering Leadership roles in Secondary Manufacturing & Packaging, covering a number of different dose forms including Tablets, Capsules, Ointment & Creams during this time.

Within these roles he gained experiences both of site growth (supporting new product introductions), site consolidation (with product transfers and site closures) & site transformations (driving productivity & compliance improvements). These roles have included interim Site Leadership Team roles in both Production and Engineering.

In 2016 Nick moved into a newly created “Automation Service Director” role within the Central Engineering function in GSK’s Manufacturing organisation. In this role Nick has established a small global team of technical specialists that provided Automation support to nearly 50 global sites, with a specific focus on lifecycle support for standardised equipment platform including Vision systems used for Serialisation.

Outside of work much of Nick’s time is absorbed by his 3 young children aged 10, 9 and 7. He & his wife Amélie also enjoy spending as much time as possible renovating their holiday home in France.
