Biography

Dr Sarah Goulding is a Specialist in the area of Medicines and Advanced Therapies, also supporting medical biotechnology and bioprocessing, at the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN).

KTN is Innovate UK’s network partner with a mission to drive UK economic growth through innovation. KTN combines expertise in all sectors with the ability to cross boundaries, enabling connections and facilitating collaborations through its understanding of the UK Innovation landscape.

Sarah represents KTN on the Leadership of the Medicines Manufacturing Industry Partnership (MMIP), and was also part of the key team that delivered the Advanced Therapies Manufacturing Taskforce action plan with industry and government. Over the last 18 months Sarah has been working alongside Innovate UK and the Office for Life Sciences on the consultation, planning and delivery of the £146m of funding opportunities and initiatives to support medicines manufacturing innovation through the Government’s Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.

Sarah joined KTN in 2010 as Technical Manager from the UK BioIndustry Association. While at the BIA, Sarah worked in public affairs and membership roles nationally, on BIA’s Science and Clinical Development agenda and was appointed Acting Director at BIA Scotland as well as helping to set up the BIA’s RegenMed Industry Group and Committee.

She has a PhD in Developmental Biology with several years of postdoctoral experience.
