Biography

Muhammad Usman Ghori is a pharmacist and academic research scientist currently serving as a Senior Research Fellow and Course Leader for the MSc Pharmaceutical Business Suite at the University of Huddersfield. His team works across diverse areas of pharmaceutical technology and material sciences, focusing on the development of technology-driven, age-appropriate, targeted, and microbiome- or electrically triggered pharmaceutical formulations. His group has extensive expertise in the design, development, and characterization of novel biomaterials, products, instruments, and drug delivery devices. He earned his PhD at the University of Huddersfield, where he was honoured with the Vice-Chancellor’s Research Student of the Year Award. During his postdoctoral work, he developed a patented nanoscale imaging technique (CIDA), which earned him Bruker Nano-surface’s Platinum Award. This innovative research also led to the establishment of a spinout company, N-Cyte Limited. 

He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE), a Scientist Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (SRPharmS), and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH). Additionally, he holds an advisory position in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences for the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS), the Government of Pakistan. 

Globally connected, he collaborates successfully with universities, pharmaceutical industries, and governmental institutions, contributing significantly to advancements in pharmaceutical science and sustainable healthcare.
