Biography

Duncan has over 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry gained from roles in non-clinical and clinical R&D, sales, marketing, medical affairs, business analysis and strategic consulting. Duncan is currently working as Director within the Custom Intelligence and Analytics team at Informa Pharma Intelligence. In this role he supports pharma, biotech and life science clients to make the best clinical-to-regulatory-to-commercial decisions. Prior to joining Informa, Duncan was a Senior Director at FirstWord Group where he was responsible for all syndicated disease analysis. Before joining FirstWord Group, Duncan spent nearly a decade working for Datamonitor Healthcare where he worked in company analysis (PharmaVitae), disease analysis (cardiology and metabolism) and the healthcare consulting team. Duncan has also held various roles at a number of pharma  companies in roles focused on medical affairs and clinical R&D. A significant proportion of Duncan’s career has focused on biosimilars, including supporting syndicated and consulting clients with their biosimilar-focused competitive intelligence needs, commercial assessment activities and LCM strategy development and implementation. Duncan has also been extensively published in the area of biosimilars, including two book chapters in Pharmaceutical Lifecycle Management: Making the Most of Each and Every Brand (Wiley, 2012), numerous articles and various B2B publications, and has chaired and presented at several biosimilar-focused conferences. Duncan holds a BSc(Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Surrey and a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Kent.
