Pharmaceutical capital projects are complex in that there are very many requirements: technical, regulatory and financial; and many sophisticated stakeholders are required to deliver successful outcomes. Furthermore these requirements are dynamic, they change over the course of a project and the lifetime of a manufacturing facility.
Traditionally, managing these varied, sometimes conflicting, requirements has been through rigorous document management, which can be cumbersome and time consuming. Model based systems engineering (MBSE) and CHIPTM design techniques are alternative approaches that can prove to be more efficient.
This presentation gives an overview of MBSE and CHIP, and an example of how they can be applied to a real world decision making process..
