Sustainable Future Labs

Synopsis

We are at the dawn of a new era for laboratories and those working in them. The value output of labs is at the edge of being transformed by the opportunities presented by data systems, automation, smart technology, AI and machine learning.

As an Engineer with over 35 years of new and refurbished laboratory design experience, I will discuss the key elements that make a laboratory sustainable for the future and challenge some of the long held engineering “must haves”, like air-change rate and pressure regimes, as well as offering techniques for a successful flexible and adaptable laboratory design.
